Looking to start off the new year right with a good workout and a beautiful view? Look no further! This trail will start mostly flat but will continue to gain elevation along with gain more and more beauty as we go up. The route uses Cottonwood Trail, and then veers into Yavapai Point Trail, for an out and back 3-mile easy to moderate hike. The trail surface ranges from smooth and level to rocky and uneven with small to medium rocks underfoot with a total elevation of 399 feet. Be sure to wear closed-toe shoes and plenty of water. As the sun starts to set, we may be able to find some critters as well, so feel free to bring a blacklight/flashlight too. Restrooms and water are available at Cottonwood Trailhead.
For those of you participating in the annual Maricopa County Parks 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge, this is a great way to earn miles towards your goal! The Challenge runs November 1, 2024 – February 8, 2025. For details on the program please visit:
