This is a 3.1-mile hike along the Coldwater, Butterfield and Dysart trails. We’ll be seeking out the three main types of scorpions native to our region. At the same time, we’ll keep our eyes open for other desert critters that may be around. The trail is rated easy-moderate with some loose rock, uneven surfaces and elevation change. Please bring plenty of water and wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes. Bring flashlights; black UV lights are optional. NO pets, please.
Please note: Summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events. The MC Parks website is the best resource for verifying the program’s current status, so please check the program listing prior to departing for your scheduled program.
