Events

The hike will cover a total of 3.5 miles on the Spur Cross trail and take you along dry washes and under towering mesas. The hike is considered moderate so expect rocky and loose trail in many places. Please be sure to bring a flashlight with fresh batteries and if you have one bring a blacklight. There is no water in the park so please plan ahead and bring plenty with you and during plenty of water the day of the hike. Bathrooms can be found at the trailhead/ covered picnic tables. MEETING LOCATION: Covered tables/ Spur Cross Trailhead Limit 20 participants. To register, please call the Cave Creek Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 8 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 9/18/24. Please note: Summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events. The Maricopa County Parks website is the best resource for verifying the program’s current status, so please check the program listing prior to departing for your scheduled program.
