Summer is here and so are our scorpion friends. We’ll be on the lookout for our Sonoran Desert species, and whoever finds the Giant Desert Hairy scorpion wins! This fun program starts with a brief overview of scorpions of Arizona and how to identify them, followed by a walk with Ranger Olivia to see how many we can find. We’ll be exploring Desert Hawk Trail, a 0.5-miles loop hike located near (and starting from) the nature center. Don’t forget to bring your blacklights, flashlights, water, close-toed shoes, and $7 cash/ vehicle to self-pay. No pets please. Gates close at 9pm.
Please note: Summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events. The MC Parks website is the best resource for verifying the program’s current status, so please check the program listing prior to departing for your scheduled program.
