Join Ranger Kevin for an approximately 3-mile hike on the Blevins trail. Trail is rated easy, with little loose rock or uneven terrain and almost no elevation change. We will be searching for all three kinds of scorpion native to our neck of the Sonoran Desert: Striped-tail, Bark, and, of course, the Giant Desert Hairy. Of course, we’ll also be on the lookout for nocturnal mammals, birds, and reptiles as well. Please wear sturdy closed-toe shoes, bring plenty of water, and a flashlight. If you have a UV (black) light, feel free to bring it as well, but the Ranger will have one for spotting and highlighting scorpions. Restrooms are available near the trailhead. No pets, please.
