We will hike the Wind Cave Trail with 800ft of elevation and at a distance of 3 miles roundtrip. This hike is rated as difficult. The trail is steep and rocky, so it is encouraged you bring proper footwear and plenty of water. Water and bathrooms are available at trailhead.
National Take a Hike Day is celebrated each year on November 17 in recognition of the National Trails System Act of 1968. This Act designated a series of scenic, historic and recreation trails in both backcountry and urban areas in an effort to provide outdoor opportunities for the public. Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department encourages you to connect with nature on a ranger-led hike, on this day or any day, to explore and learn about our beautiful Sonoran Desert. To ensure everyone can enjoy this nationally recognized day, the regular day-use entry fee for all of Maricopa County’s regional parks will be waived on November 17.
MEETING LOCATION: Wind cave parking lot, next to the bathrooms, by the kiosk.
