Are you interested in hiking in the Sonoran Desert on your own? Have you ever looked at a trail and thought “I wish I could get out there?” If the answer to these questions is yes, then come join Ranger Derik on our Intro to Desert Hiking class.
This intro to hiking class will give you the tools and skills to hike in our regional parks safely. The class will be taught by Ranger Derik and cover topics such as picking trails, preparing for the weather, what to pack in your bag, what to eat, and many more topics. This will be a structured presentation followed by a time for asking questions. Feel free to bring your own hiking bags and gear if you would like to talk about your setup or have questions about your setup. We look forward to seeing you on the trails!
Limit 20 participants. To register, please call the Cave Creek Nature Center (602) 506-2930 ext 8. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list.
