Learn about the resident and migrant birds of the Sonoran Desert on this guided walk with Ranger Eric. Click on program title for more details.
Join Ranger Eric for a guided bird walk to look and listen for resident and migrant species of the Sonoran Desert. Along the way we will discuss how to identify birds by sight and sound, and about the behavioral and ecological traits that make them unique. Binoculars may be available to borrow at the Nature Center, but please bring your own if you have them. We will walk on easy grade, but sometimes uneven ground around the Nature Center and on Tortoise Trail. If time allows, we may walk across the road from the Nature Center to walk the roads through the campground. Please dress in layers, wear sturdy footwear and sun protection, and carry ample water for yourself. Restrooms are available at the Nature Center.
MEETING LOCATION: Nature Center. See park map here: https://www.maricopacountyparks.net/assets/1/6/mcdowell-8x11.pdf
