Petroglyphs, hieroglyphics, pictographs, and alphabets. With word and picture, song and script humans have sought to preserve, spread, and protect their ideas, beliefs, knowledge, and truths. We are fortunate enough, here in Maricopa County, to have some amazing examples of this left behind by the peoples who have called this valley home long before us. Stop by for a discussion about some of the various types of rock art found around the county and around the world. Discuss oral history, storytelling, and the significance of visual aids to story-based culture.
