Join Ranger Derik on a 2.5-mile loop hike of the Metate and Spur Cross trails starting at area 7. The trail is rated as moderate and features rolling hills. The trail itself is mostly flat but some sections can be sandy and or rocky. Throughout the walk the group will take frequent stops to take in the views and talk about the edible and medicinal properties of trees, cacti, and flowers. Because this is a county park we will not be trying and of the plants on our hike as we encourage Leave No Trace principles. Bathrooms can be found at the trailhead however there is no water in the park so please make sure to bring plenty with you.  LOCATION: Covered tables Limit 20 participants.
