Join Ranger Nikki on an easy terrain hike to learn about some of the cacti in our desert and catch a glimpse of critters on the move. Click program title for more details.
Ranger Nikki will lead you on an easy to moderate terrain hike to look for saguaros, cholla and barrel cacti along with a variety of animals such as birds, lizards, deer and more. The route makes a loop using Blevins, Meridian, County Line, Ruidoso and NoSo Trails for approximately 5.3 miles on easy to moderate terrain. The trail is mostly flat but there are areas with uneven surfaces. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring a hat, sunscreen and plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available at the Trailhead Staging area.
MEETING LOCATION: Trailhead staging at Blevins east access.
Limit 20 participants. To register, please call the Usery Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 4 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on Thursday, December 14.
