Come on down, intrepid amateur entomologists, for another round of Bug Theater. Learn how to construct a light trap, do some basic bug capture and identification maybe get a chance to do some scorpion hunting. See some pinned specimens and learn a little about insect collecting. Maybe find a new, educational hobby for yourself or your kids (or your kid's kids! I won't tell!) Ranger Shaun is here to teach you some tricks, traps, and tips to catch, ID, and release safely. Or if collecting is your thing, euthanize quickly and humanely, preferably without getting bit, stung, or squirted on! We won't be doing any collecting tonight, but learning is the first step to doing!
Restrooms and water will be available nearby. Flashlights and blacklights recommended, but not required. Butterfly nets and catch jars will be available in small quantities but feel free to bring your own as well. No pets please, long sleeves recommended for those sensitive to bug bites as mosquitos are sometimes an issue.
