If you are participating the in the Maricopa County Parks’ ‘100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge’ (November 1 to February 8) or simply wanting to learn about the Sonoran Desert, then join Ranger Eric for a guided 7.8 mile round-trip hike on a moderate to difficult rated loop of the Rock Peak Wash, Malpais, and San Tan trails. We will meet at the Rock Peak Wash Trailhead on the south end of the park (see park map here: https://www.maricopacountyparks.net/assets/1/6/san-tan-8x11.pdf). Please dress in layers, wear clothing to protect against sun exposure, wear sturdy footwear, and carry ample water and snacks for yourself. Parts of the hike go through stretches of sandy washes and there will be periodic rocky or uneven surfaces.
