We’ll hike about 1.2 miles through the foothills of the Estrella Mountains and along the way learn what to pack and how to plan for hiking in the summer heat. After returning to the nature center covered patio you will be able to look at what a ranger carries in their backpack for a full day hiking in the desert. Please make sure to bring plenty of water, wear protective clothing, sunscreen, and sunglasses. Water and bathrooms can be found at the nature center. The actual nature center will be closed on Sunday though so don’t plan on going inside. MEETING LOCATION: Nature Center back porch Limit 20 participants. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call back ASAP so those on the waiting list may be contacted. Registration for this program will close on 6/7/24.
