Ranger Nikki will lead you on a hike up and over Goldmine Mountain for a good workout and to learn about our Sonoran Desert. We will enjoy flowering cacti, including the ubiquitous saguaro, keep an eye out for wildlife. The route along Goldmine Trail is rated difficult with uneven ground, loose rocks and steep elevation. The return route will follow Dynamite Trail with moderate terrain, consisting of uneven ground and a gradual elevation change. The total distance is approximately 6 miles. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring snacks and plenty of water. Hiking poles are helpful. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center.
MEETING LOCATION: Main Trailhead picnic table.
