Maricopa County Parks Seek Feedback on Park Master Plan Updates

Parks_Master_Plan_-_Press_Release_Survey_GraphicThe Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department is working on a three-year park master plan project to complete comprehensive improvements and preservation efforts for nine parks across Maricopa County. The Park Master Plans will provide a road map for the future of the park's recreational facilities, open spaces, and opportunities over the next 10-15 years.

The goal is to develop master plans for three separate parks each year, and it's crucial to have community members' input to ensure that all voices are heard. Your input is invaluable as we strategically examine the community's vision, existing parks, services, facilities, and resources to assess future parks, recreation, and open space needs.

The Park Master Plans will provide a foundation for:

  • Identifying capital improvement goals to evaluate fiscal requirements and funding needs
  • Guiding critical decisions about parks, recreation facilities, open space, infrastructure, programs, and services
  • Developing recommendations and an implementation strategy

The Park's Master Plans to be updated are as follows:

2024

  • Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
  • Cave Creek Regional Park
  • McDowell Mountain Regional Park

2025

  • Estrella Mountain Regional Park
  • Lake Pleasant Regional Park
  • Buckeye Hills Regional Park

2026

  • White Tank Mountain Regional Park
  • Usery Mountain Regional Park
  • San Tan Mountain Regional Park

To learn more about the project, park users can visit the master plan website, https://engageberrydunn.mysocialpinpoint.com/maricopa-county-parks-and-recreation-parks-master-plan to:

  • complete an online survey,
  • provide feedback on an interactive park map,
  • comment on budget allocations for potential improvement projects and
  • to stay informed on upcoming meetings and milestones.

Feedback may also be provided electronically by emailing maricopacountyparks@maricopa.gov and adding "Park Master Plan" to the subject line.
