Events

The hike will follow the Wild Burro Trail as it winds its way along the lake pleasant shoreline. The trail is rated as easy and the hike will cover 3 miles out and back. The trail can be sandy at times and in a few places rocky. Water and bathrooms can be found at the trailhead. Please make sure to bring a headlamp or a flashlight with charged or extra batteries. If you have a blacklight please bring it along and help us hunt for scorpions when the sun sets. MEETING LOCATION: Area 9 Wild Burro Trailhead Limit 20 participants. To register, email derik.rodgers@maricopa.gov with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please Email Ranger Derik so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 8/26/24. Please note: Summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events.
