Ranger Nikki leads this hike to watch the sun set behind the mountains and the full moon rise to the east. We will listen for coyote and owl calls and watch for bat silhouettes against the dimly lit sky. Bring your blacklight and regular flashlight to look for other evening critters. The route uses Moonlight Trail and the park’s Service Road, connected by a small portion of San Tan Trail. The terrain ranges from even and smooth to uneven with small to medium rocks underfoot. No pets, please. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center. Please bring $7 exact cash for the self-pay station or your annual pass to display on your vehicle.
