The trail is 3 miles (4.8 km) with rocky terrain and a 400-foot (122m) elevation gain, featuring a lookout point at the peak. Bring study shoes, water, and snacks. No dogs please. The meeting spot is accessed via the North Entry to Lake Pleasant, approximately 3 miles north of the main entry. To get there, take Castle Hot Springs Road north until the road ends; turn right to pay your fee at the Entry Booth. Entry is $7 per vehicle, or an annual pass, or your same day receipt from the main entry. Follow the main road into the park and take your first right onto Cottonwood Lane. The Cottonwood Day Use area is at the end of the road. We will meet there by the bathrooms.
