Maricopa County Parks will host three Seed Pellet Workshops (formerly known as Seed Bomb Workshops).
Join us for a Seed Pellet Workshop; there are three to choose from or come to them all. It is so much fun!
When December 13 at Estrella Mountian Regional Park, Meet at Nature Center at 8:00 am-11:30 am
The Desert Defender Team spent months collecting native seeds in the parks. These seeds are now ready to be converted to seed pellets (formerly known as seed bombs). Join us for these fun events!
Participants will learn to make seed pellets by mixing native seed, clay, soil/compost, and water. You will also learn how to process the native seed and prepare for the pellet creations. These pellets will later be planted where invasive species were treated earlier this year or in wildfire-impacted areas. We will be improving the park's native biodiversity and preventing more invasive species from invading.
Registration Required. Register for one or more Seed Pellet workshops; all workshops will be held from 8:00 am to 11:30 am.
FREE Desert Defender T-shirts when participating in four or more events (while supplies last). Thanks to Arizona Master Naturalists and Central AZ Conservation Alliance,
Please bring gloves, water, and a snack. Dress in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, or wear an apron. We will be in the nature center for part of the workshop and outdoors near the nature center.
This is a family-friendly event. Participants should be at least five years old, and an adult must accompany minors.
Programs with less than three registered volunteers may be canceled at least one day before the event. Registered volunteers will receive an email stating that the event has been canceled.
