Join a certified Basic Archery Instructor to go beyond the fundamentals of Archery 1 and further develop your aim and your focus throughout the shot sequence with a series of target exercises. After a short refresher on the 11 Steps to Archery Success, enjoy some friendly
competition between students with games to test your accuracy. These may include keeping score, matching an opponent shot-for-shot or hitting a precise marked point on the target.
**This is a Level 2 archery class. As a prerequisite, all participants must have attended Archery 1 with a certified Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department instructor or have equivalent archery experience from a certified instructor. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all our guests, anyone lacking the prerequisite may be turned away and invited to take Archery 1.
Open to adults and kids aged 10 and up (requires arm/shoulder strength to successfully draw back the bow). Wear closed-toe shoes and a long-sleeved shirt and bring plenty of water. Equipment is provided. This class is included with your park entry fee. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center.
Due to the structured nature of the class and focus on safety, late arrivals may not be able to participate. Please plan your commute accordingly to arrive 15 minutes early and be aware that busy park entry stations this time of year may delay your arrival to the range location.
