Join us for a unique 3.3-mile guided hike along the Tortuga Loop, offering an insider's look at native Hohokam ruins. This moderate trail features rocky and uneven terrain with about 200 feet of elevation gain. Be prepared for warm conditions—dress appropriately, bring plenty of water, and consider packing a snack. No dogs, please. A portable toilet is available near the trailhead, but there are no water fountains. Preservation: The Hohokam archaeological sites are protected by Arizona law (Arizona Revised Statutes § 41-841 et seq.) and may only be accessed with a ranger. Participants are encouraged to be site stewards to help preserve these special native protected areas.
