Spend the morning with Ranger Derik walking in the path of the ancient Hohokam people
that called the White Tank mountains home. Along the way learn how they thrived in the Sonoran Desert for centuries.

The hike is rated as easy and will cover sections for the Black Rock and Waterfall Trails for a total of 3 miles round trip. The trail is relatively flat the entire hike with exception of the last half mile to the waterfall where the trail gets steeper and a little rocky in spots. Please note that the waterfall is seasonal and only flows after several prolonged rain events. Along the hike we will stop to look at petroglyphs, artifacts, and edible desert plants harvested by the Hohokam people. Please bring water, check the weather and wear sturdy close toed shoes.
