TAMARISK INVASIVE SPECIES REMOVAL
FEBRUARY 15 - MARCH 31, 2025
Crews will be using heavy equipment (wood chippers, chainsaws, loppers, and herbicide application) in the area at Estrella Mountain Regional Park to remove tamarisk trees and shrubs using a bobcat and a masticator. The masticator will be used to grind and shred the vegetation into wood chips, which will be deposited on-site. The team will also perform foliar treatment on other invasive species within the project area.
The El Rio parking lot will be closed during this time to allow the crews to do the work safely. Please DO NOT enter the area. The work area is highlighted in yellow on the map above.
